Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant

717 Richmond Street London ON N6A 1S2

Marrying old world charm with high tech, Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant offers London diners a unique culinary experience.
Established four years ago, owner Felipe Gomes has marketed Aroma as a destination eatery in the Forest City, with facilities for friends and corporate team building, a private conference room for up to 30, as well as a beautiful courtyard and dining room, featuring entertainment on weekends.

He has recently topped all of these accomplishments by bringing the world to London, literally. With a form of web technology, families and friends can share a meal together across the country or around the world. Gatherings of up to 30 can eat dinner together while chatting with Grandma overseas, if she also has the technology, as the private conference room at Aroma is wired for sound!

Felipe’s newest addition to Aroma is an 18th century inspired wine cellar. He discovered a 600 square foot space that had not been used for over 50 years. Below the drywall and plaster, the strong yellow brick and solid walnut beams inspired his creativity. Presently, this rustic space houses 1000 bottles of wine, some underfoot in a built-in glass display case; wine barrels and antique pieces from Middle Eastern cultures, where the wine culture began. This is an educational as well as culinary experience, as vintages from every wine producing nation are featured.

Aroma’s Mediterranean menu features specialties from all over that region: the south of France, Greece, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Felipe has made several additions to the menu, including his favourite Aroma Calamari, this is calamari stuffed with seasoned bread crumbs, mushrooms and chorizo (Portuguese sausage) topped with Andalucian sauce, and also fresh fish from the coast of Portugal and Spain.

To accompany the fabulous food, environment, and wonderful wines, one can expect to see European style entertainment that complements all three. Every weekend features opera, Fado (Portuguese), Spanish guitarists, Flamenco, or jazz.
Don’t miss a chance on Friday or Saturday evenings to enjoy Tapas & Sangria in the new wine cellar. A trip to Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant is a great way to get some European culture without leaving London.
